Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 30, 2026

1. General Information

Websta (hereinafter "we", "us", or "service") respects your privacy. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when using our website generation service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data:

  • Contact information: email address during registration
  • Usage data: number of generated websites, usage statistics
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device info
  • Uploaded content: images and texts you upload for website creation
  • Location data: approximate location (rounded to ~1 km precision) when you use the mobile app with location permission granted, used to show nearby services and for anonymized analytics

3. Data Usage

We use your data to:

  • Provide the service and generate websites
  • Manage user accounts
  • Improve and develop the service
  • Show nearby service providers and relevant content based on your location
  • Analyze anonymized location patterns to improve service coverage
  • Provide customer support
  • Notify about technical updates

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except in the following cases: with partners necessary for service provision (e.g., cloud hosting, payment services), to comply with legal obligations, or with your explicit consent.

5. Data Security

We use modern security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), secure servers, and regular security audits. However, we cannot guarantee absolute security for data transmitted over the internet.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request data deletion
  • Object to data processing
  • Receive your data in machine-readable format

7. Account creation via contact form

When you send a message to a service provider through their Websta page contact section (chat widget), we automatically create a free Websta account for you so you can track replies and continue the conversation. The account is created only after you confirm the verification code we send to your email ("double opt-in").

During this process we collect:

  • Your email address
  • The message content
  • IP address and timestamp (security and spam protection)
  • Verification code creation and use history (for audit)

We use this data to:

  • Deliver your message to the site owner
  • Create and maintain your Websta account
  • Store and sync conversations across web and mobile
  • Prevent spam and abuse

We do NOT send marketing emails or promotional content without your separate consent. We only send notifications related to your conversations (new replies, booking confirmations, etc.), which you can disable in settings.

You can delete your account at any time from Websta settings — this removes your profile, all conversations and personal data within 30 days.

Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(a) — your consent, expressed through the active step of confirming the verification code.
